After meeting with your private guide you leave Jerusalem and exit Israel through on of the checkpoints to enter the city of Bethlehem where you will drive through the Old City neighborhoods before arriving at the main Manger Square. Here we meet a local Palestinian guide from Bethlehem who will join us in the Church of Nativity, the oldest church building in the Holy Land and the place of birth of Jesus. Just before going through the checkpoint again you stop at a high point for a view of the area. This tour takes you back to the beginning of the Human Civilization – to Jericho, the first city in the History. You will see the Tower built over 10,000 years ago. We shall further take a Cable Car, which will bring us to the Monastery of Temptation. This monastery, built at the top of the steep mount, is considered one of the miracles of the Holy Land. We shall visit the Qasr Al Yahud, the Baptism site at the Jordan River. Qasr Al Yahud is believed to be the place where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist This exclusively beautiful site, at the border between Israel and Jordan, is surrounded by the new and ancient monasteries and creates a strong feeling of Mystery. We shall stop at Deir Hajla Monastery. Initially built in the V CAD, the monastery was further destroyed by the invading Persian Army., and it still keeps the sculls of the monks executed by the invaders. Finally, if the time permits, we shall make a detour to see Wadi Qelt deepest gorge, famous for its beauty.

We start traveling south of Jerusalem through the Judean Hills. This tour passes the Inn of the Good Samaritan and pauses by the sign indicating sea level. Our first stop on this tour is Masada, a “mesa” or flat-topped rock outcrop rising 450m from the desert plains. We take a cable car to the plateau summit of Masada where there are breath-taking views of the Dead Sea. Thanks to the dry climate and remote location the structures have been well preserved. About 100 years later during the First Jewish–Roman War (66–73 CE), a group of Jewish zealots took refuge on Masada. They held off the Romans for several months until the Romans built an earthen ramp to scale the steep cliffs. Then you'll go nearby Dead Sea past Ein Gedi and Qumran, the site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery. If time permits, we will stop for refreshments at the Dead Sea Mineral Cosmetic factory. Our final stop on this tour is the Dead Sea where you can relax on the beach and unwind.

For such a small desert, the Judean desert sure is packed with history that concern Jewish, Christians and Muslims. those 3 main religions have a lot of history here and its amaze me again and again how small is the region that containes all of this stories.
