We will drive to El Hato Village, where you will get to know Hobbitenango, you will be greeted by the charming hobbit-style houses, inspired by the famous literary work. Take a morning to learn the Maya art of backstrap weaving in a beautiful central Antigua courtyard, surrounded by plants. Sit alongside a master weaver and learn her story. Guatemala is a country rich in its textile tradition, with lots of colors everywhere. But do you know what it really takes to create a weaving? Beginners can gain appreciation of this tradition, and advanced weavers can get into the nitty gritty details of single-sided or even double-sided brocade. Stitch by stitch, learn to weave a traditional motif.

Traversing our way across the lower sections of Volcan de Agua will give you great views back to Antigua and the rest of the valley. We then make our way to the downhill section that brings up back to civilization, popping back out in San Pedro las Huertas. From San Pedro we’ll cruise all the way back to Antigua.
