On top of that we will also teach you about the connection with Greek mythology. A romantic activity suitable for all ages.
On this private shore excursion from the Santorini Old port, you will discover the wonders of the island. After a short ride with the cable car, you will visit the island's capital, Fira, and then the dramatic town of Oia, home to dwellings nestled in volcanic rock. At the Akrotiri excavation site, you will see the remains of one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean region. Your private tour guide will entertain you during your tour with interesting details and stories about Santorini. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy another short drive with the cable car, down to the old port of Santorini to return to your cruise ship with your ship’s tenders.
After a trip of 10 minutes we reach the small port of Nea Kameni, where the volcano is. Your time there is 1 hour and 15 minutes where you can walk and visit this wild landscape with the volcanic rocks and the active craters of the volcano, where there is still smoke coming out and keenly smells sulfur.
Then the boat will depart for Palaia Kameni, where the hot springs are. Inside the bay of Agios Nikolaos the water temperature is 30-35 Celsius but it constantly mixes with seawater. The boat stays for 30 minutes, since there is no beach, but you have to climb down a ladder from the boat into the sea and swim about 30 meters to the small bay, to the mud baths.
The boat will start a sail around the caldera where you can take pictures of the houses that literally hang on the edge of the cliff, in combination with the beautiful colors of the sunset on a wooden boat with sails, listening to music and enjoying a glass of local wine.
The boat returns to the port after sunset.
