In the greater area around the sacred hill of the Acropolis, we will visit some of the most important historic and mythical "gems” and will reveal their stories through interactive and on-the-spot challenges. No entrance fee is required, the places that we will visit are all free to walk to. The duration (usually 3+ hours) depends on your pace and is adjustable to your plans. There we will visit the Agora, the Doric Temple of Apollo (6th century BC). You will also visit the pontium where St. Paul preached. Afterwards we will continue our trip through some beautiful villages to Mycenae, where you will visit the archaeological site, the Cyclopean Walls, the Treasure of Atreus (the beehive tomb of Agamemnon) and the Lions Gate. Then we will continue through the city of Argos to Nafplion (one of the most beautiful byzantine cities in Greece!), the first capital of the modern Greek state, with its Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi. There we can stop for lunch and then continue to Epidaurus. Finally, we will return back to Athens.

We will also see the famous “trilogy” of buildings designed by the Danish architects Theophil and Christian Hansen: the Academy of Athens, the University of Athens, and the National Library. In grand neoclassical style, they represent the ambitions of the early Greek state. Along with these more modern landmarks, we also see the stadium where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896. We visit the monument known as Hadrian’s Arch, a distinctive Roman structure dedicated to Theseus and Hadrian, the founders of Athens. Finally, we view of the Acropolis and the whole city atop Lycabettus Hill.
