Drive past the neo-classical buildings of the Academy, the University, and the National Library, and on to Omonia Square before moving on to Syntagma or “Constitution Square” (the heart of central Athens). Opposite is the Parliament building, where the National Guards (Evzones) in their colorful uniform skirts and pompom shoes guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. See the Pan-Athenian Stadium, the all-white marble stadium where history was made as the site of the first modern Olympic Games. Nearby, the Temple of Zeus is separated from modern Athens by the tall stone structure Hadrian’s Arch. Also view the Pnyx , the Theseum and the Agora with the reconstructed Stoa of Attalos. Then, on to the Acropolis, at the base of which stand the ancient theatres of Dionysos, and the still used Odeon of Herodes Atticus. The tour ends with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum or National Archaeological Museum.

We begin our tour from Athens in the morning via the National Athens-Lamia road, passing the cities of Thebes and Livadia, heading to the mountain of Parnassos. First stop at Arachova, a cosmopolitan village, known for its handicrafts, wine and cheese.Second stop will be Delphi. Delphi, is also known as the center of the world. We will visit the Apollo Temple, the Delphi Archaeological museum, Castalia and the Ancient Theater. After having lunch in Delphi, we will continue to drive for one hour through beautiful and natural scenery, of fields and natural gardens. Taking the Rio Antirio Bridge, which is outside of Patra, we reach Ancient Olympia, where we will stay overnight. The next day we leave the hotel at 9.00am to visit the archeological site of Ancient Olympia and museum spending 2 hours in the area. We will partake in lunch in Ancient Olympia and then we are off to our last stop, before our arrival to Athens, which is the Corinth Canal.

We’ll kick off the adventure with your facilitator and a small bus ride from Athens to Lake Vouliagmeni. There, you will have a coffee and snack to keep you energized and you are ready to start your adventure. Your facilitator will announce the mission and you will start hunting for clues in the lake. Then you will continue your bus trip to Sounio where you’ll immerse yourself in the ancient past hunting for even more clues with the Aegean Sea as your backdrop. Your discovery game will end in front of the Temple of Poseidon, where your facilitator will lead a coronation ceremony to celebrate the completion of your mission. Next, you have the option of a wonderful late lunch and then you will enjoy your scenic ride back to Athens.
