The trip to the Andes Mountain Range is always an adventure, an unparalleled trip to climb the Cerro Pintor, where the scenery and the encounter with the mountain is breathtaking and a unique landscape. The lagoon of Piuquenes, walk along the edge of the mountain at the foot of our destination, where we see the colors that give rise to the name of this beautiful attraction. This excursion is an excellent opportunity to experience high altitudes and admire the wonderful Andean landscape. El Pintor is a magnificent mountain that rises above 4,000m (13,123ft) from sea level. Of moderate technical difficulty, this colourful giant offers excellent views of deep valleys and huge neighbouring andean peaks. The ascent begins at La Parva Ski Resort. The first stage of the trek will bring us to Laguna Piuquenes sector at 3,599m (11,482ft). After a short rest here we will climb up 200m (656ft) more to a promontory named Falsa Parva. From this point we will continue for two more hours following a practically flat trail crossing by a desert and rocky landscape, to finally give our last efforts to attack the summit of this challenger. ATTENTION This is a high mountain experience that requieres good mental and physical condition. Atmospheric pressure decreases in high altitudes and may provoke altitude sickness resulting from shortage of oxygen.

This trek starts at a popular mountain Park “Puente Ñilhue-Provincia” located in the foothills of the Andes mountain range, at the eastern area of Santiago. This park is composed of multiple trails, we are going to start our ascent towards “Alto del Naranjo”, for a wonderful crossing from the start point, located at the entrance of Puente Ñilhue-Provincia Park, to exit at San Carlos de Apoquindo. During the trekking, we will have the possibility to admire the beautiful Andes mountain range, the magnificent Plomo mountain of 5,424 meter and the city of Santiago. When we reach the top we will delight ourselves with a delicious sandwich at the shade of the Quillay with a privilege view over the mountains. While resting, we can recover our energy and start our walk down to San Carlos de Apoquindo following this stunning trail. This hill is ideal for explorers who enjoy a more demanding physical activity.

Departure from the hotel in the morning heading for the central coast. The tour’s destination is Isla Negra, a small beachside resort in the El Quisco district that has earned its fame around the world due to its lovely surroundings and intimate relationship with poet Pablo Neruda. He wrote most of his work in this residence, that houses a museum today. Built in 1939, the building displays a peculiar architecture due to the combination of low-cost materials with artistic ingeniousness. Inside, collections of bottles, figureheads, shells and other objects picked up by Neruda during his life can be admired. After visiting the museum and on the way to Santiago, a stopover at Pomaire follows. It’s a small village of artisans in the Melipilla district, where visitors may shop for crafts ,especially clay objects.
