The Sun Rise is an exciting thing to do, especially when we are traveling. Starting before dawn, we’ll enter Angkor Wat in darkness from the little-visited east gate creep through a jungle path to the library pool, and wait for Sun Rise. Angkor Wat is the world’s largest religious complex. After soaking up the atmosphere of dawn, you will wander pass the longest stretch of bas-relief carvings in the world. Your guide will share with you all the history and culture. Then you will venture deep into the central chambers and up to the upper terraces of this truly great temple. After breakfast break, You’ll visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon. Visit Baphuon, Vimeanakas and the compound of the Former Royal Palace of the Khmer Empire. Then explore the famous Terrace of Elephant and Terrace of the Leper King. Next, we visit the jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider temple). The tour will end back at your accommodation in Siem Reap.

We start the evening with a hotel pick up, before heading to the famous Angkor Wat for sunset (no pass needed!) drinks, and a charcuterie and cheese plate. We then head down the non-touristy Khmer street food road to sample local delicacies, tropical fruits, creepy crawlies (if you dare) and BBQ meats. After, we will jump into our tuk tuk and head into the popular Pub Street area. Here we will enjoy samples of the most famous local dishes and cocktails hidden in our favourite Speakeasy Bar. Discover the rarely visited remains of the Sambor Prei Kuk complex and the ancient bridge at Spean Praptos. Sambor Prei Kuk was once the second capital of the Chenla Kingdom (late 6th to 9th century), then known as Isanapura. The buildings are characteristic of the Pre-Angkorean period with a simple external plan. The principal material is brick, but sandstone is also used for certain structures. Architectural features include numerous prasats, octagonal towers, shiva lingams and yonis, ponds and reservoirs, and lion sculptures. Sambor Prei Kuk is located amidst mature sub-tropical forests with limited undergrowth. Spean Praptos was once the longest corbeled stone-arch bridge in the world. The bridge was built in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. It is one of the few Khmer empire era bridges to have survived to the modern day.

This late 12th – early 13th century Buddhist temple is located in the northwest corner of Cambodia's Banteay Meanchay province and only 20km from the Thai border. It is one of the largest temple-city complexes built by a Khmer king. The temple is in a bad state of preservation as no restoration efforts were conducted here in the 20th century. The layout resembles Angkor Thom and other structures attributed to Jayavarman VII. The outer gallery is carved with bas-relief depicting military engagements and daily life scenes very similar to the well known ones in Bayon. Travelling to Banteay Chhmar takes a little effort but this should not deter you. The temple sees very few visitors mainly due to its remote location and this will earn you the well deserved bragging explorer's rights.

Sambor Prei Kuk (Temples Group) is an archaeological site in Cambodia located in Kampong Thom Province, 30 km north of Kampong Thom, the provincial capital, 176 km east of Angkor (Siem Reap City ) and 206 km north of Phnom Penh.
