On this tour we will share with you the story of rum visiting St. Nicholas Abbey a plantation house built in the 17th century. The plantation produces award winning rum and they are always delighted to offer you a sample. You will tour the plantation house, the gardens, rum distillery and take a ride on the heritage railway a restored old steam engine. This Barbados Island Tour covers a visit to Earth Works Pottery situated in the central parish of St. Thomas in a middle to upper class neighborhood. Travel along the country side to the historic St. John's Church. Onto the Flower Forest Garden, for a walk through an extensive array of plants and trees. The windmill is on the top 100 endangered historical sites in the world. Then we will continue up the hill to Cherry Tree Hill for a short photo op. stop before moving on to St. Nicholas Abbey. This tour takes you to St. Nicholas Abbey, a working manor house and plantation surrounded by cane fields and lush mahogany forest. You'll ride a heritage steam railway to Cherry Tree Hill, where you can experience the locomotive's turntable and enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic coastline. The Manor House, one of only three remaining Jacobean Mansions in the Western Hemisphere, is open to the public. You'll visit the rum distillery and learn about rum production. The tour ends with a leisurely drive along the East Coast road, stopping at Morgan Lewis Windmill.
