Vlora port city, bordered by the Adriatic Sea, is a modern city. It is the city where the Albanian independence from the Ottomans was proclaimed on November 28th, 1912. It was founded in the 6th century BC under the name of Aulona. Roman rule remained Patriarchate of Rome until the 8th century AD and then moved to the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It was occupied by the Italians from 1914 to 1920 and during the Second World War from 1939 to the famous and tragic September 8, 1943. During this war the island of Sazan, located in the Bay of Vlora, became a submarine and naval base for Italians and Germans. Vlora is also the city with the largest number of foreign tourists after Tirana.

The Cape of Rodon is a hidden gem in Albania. A beautiful rocky peninsula points into the wild Adriatic Sea. Prizren is a town with around 90,000 inhabitants, and it is a true open air museum, one of the most beautiful towns of Kosova. Prizren was established at a convenient locality as an important trading town, through which passed old roads towards the Adriatic coast and the interior of the Balkan peninsula. The city already existed in Roman times, and in the 2nd century A.D. it is mentioned with the name of Theranda and in the 5th century A.D. it is mentioned with the name of Petrizên by Procopius of Caesarea.
